Mystery Island VBS Update

Our theme for VBS this year was “Mystery Island; Tracking Down the One True God.” Thanks to the excellent efforts of Ashley Pearce and Sharon Bannister (Directors), and all the leaders and workers who taught, led in music and drama, crafts, and recreation, provided food and snacks, led groups of children, provided transportation, decorated and set-up/tear-down, registered, and so much more.  Vacation Bible School is easily one of the best ministry efforts we engage in as a whole congregation.  This year we had 30 on-site workers displaying the love of God to 38 children. Please continue to pray for the children who attended, specifically ask God to make the Gospel they heard bear fruit in their hearts.

Good City Architects

The architect, contractor, and engineers are working to incorporate HVAC, electrical, audio-visual, and structural systems into the building, and to update the site plan to reflect the Board of Zoning Appeals’ review comments. Pray for skill and wisdom as the details are worked out in ways that best supports the Church’s mission and ministry goals.

Every journey proceeds a step at a time, and we are well on our way!  We are continuing to meet friends in the West End, including children (and their families) who attended VBS.  We are intentionally developing relationships with Hollis Elementary and Greenville High.  Over the next two months the Preparation 2021 team will be working on establishing a “Vision Frame,” including ministry plans that will move us forward in Glorifying God and Making Mature Disciples of All Nations, starting in the West End. Pray for wisdom and sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
